Our movement is proud to announce a historic flag, a symbol of unity, resistance, and the indomitable spirit of the Kashmiri people. This flag honors our rich history and embodies our aspirations for Azaadi: liberation, freedom, self-determination, self-governance, justice, peace and prosperity for Kashmir.
Originally proposed by Maqbool Bhat and Amanullah Khan of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), this flag transcends the colonial borders that divide the Kashmiri people. We embrace this flag as a symbol of the broader Kashmiri resistance and national liberation movement, embodying kinship among all tribes and communities within the expansive Jammu and Kashmir region. This flag honors the sacrifices of our martyrs, and links us to our shared history and collective aspirations.
The green in the flag represents our land, the red honors the generations of martyrs who have sacrificed their lives, and the white stands for our continuous pursuit of peace, justice, and liberation. This flag signifies a renewed commitment to self-determination and relentless resistance. It transcends the divisive politics of the past, representing a future crafted together by all Kashmiris.
Unburdened by affiliations that could distort the essence of our national liberation movement, this flag serves as a testament to our collective struggle and shared future.
We invite everyone to use this flag as a symbol of our enduring fight for Azaadi and the values our martyrs championed. Beneath this flag, we continue our march towards a liberated Kashmir.
